The view from my Guest House in Bangkok

Well I’ve been on the road for just about two weeks now, and have been remiss in posting. Sorry bloggers.

On November 2nd I arrived in Bangkok, and in a short amount of time was both overwhelmed and enchanted by the largest city in southeast Asia. After some *much* less attractive digs, I took the recommendation of several friends and made my way to the Phiman Water View: a hidden gem of a guest house nestled under the newly built and gorgeous Rama 8 bridge. The guest house is owned by an Thai born, San Francisco raised artist named Vee, who has spread the word through artistic communities all over the world. The place even has a staff who will take your clothes to be washed, get food, help you with arrangements. Just don’t expect any of it to happen on your schedule. For 200-600 bhat a night ($7-$20) highly recommended. More to come.

Trying to travel responsibly, so i just purchased a water filter. It’s a sports type bottle with a central pillar like filter which should make tap water drinkable.

Found a great first palce to land in Bangkok. It’s an artist collective mixed with ex patriates and locals where they teach Thai help travellers get aquainted with the city. Very excited!
